Household Tips: (e-mailed to us by a family friend)

Candles will last a lot longer if placed in the freezer for at least 3 hours prior to burning.
Don't throw out leftover wine: Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces, or making a pot roast.
Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.
Sealed envelope - Put it in the freezer for a few hours, then slide a knife under the flap to open. The envelope can then be resealed.
Use vertical strokes when washing the outside of windows, and horizontal strokes when washing the inside. That way, you can tell which side still has streaks.
When you get a splinter, reach for the scotch tape (packing or masking tape will do in a pinch too) before resorting for the tweezers or a needle. Simply put the tape over the splinter, then pull off the tape. Scotch tape removes most splinters painlessly and effortlessly.
